I bet you've all been seeing people talk about the subscription box craze, where people subscribe for a set price each month and receive a box of random, nerdy things. I too have been swept away by the subscription craze, but none more so than Nerd Block's Arcade Box, which in my opinion is the best block they offer. I just renewed my subscription today, actually. Not to sound like an ad, but they didn't just send a few random POP figures (although I usually get one every other box at least). They've also sent me stuff for my kitchen. Thanks to this service, I now own a Pac*Man Salt and Pepper shaker set among other retro gaming artifacts. I now have bottle openers and cork openers that resemble video game items, so my kitchen looks less like your standard housewife fare, and more like a colorful, video game museum! So needless to say, my kitchen is better than yours. So there. Nyah! :P The box is designed to look like an NES console, and they're pretty heavy on all things retro. They occasionally will add in some Pokemon and Super Mario items, and once in a while, you'll get something Atari related. This past March, I actually got a MegaMan plushie, which I was very surprised by. And they do SO MUCH with Zelda!! My brother is a huge Zelda fan (While I'm just now getting my third game) so I have plenty of new things to share with him, such as the Majora's Mask mouse-pad I just got, and the map of Hyrule tea-towel. They seem to cater to UbiSoft fans as well. Today I got an Assassin's Creed figure, and aside from UbiSoft, they do have other, more mature game developers on board, which is why I'm recommending this block for older gaming fans. Every other box so far, I've gotten something from Bethesda's Fallout series, which my husband can't get enough of. If you have kids, they do offer gender-specific Nerd Jr Blocks, which are curated to be age appropriate. They also have blocks for fans of Sci-Fi, Horror and Comic Books, but personally, the Arcade Block is my favorite. If you hit the button below, you can get $5 off of any new subscription, just for being a Codename Sailor Earth fan! They're giving out a free t-shirt as well, and they now do unisex adult shirt sizes up to 4X. So if you've been curious about joining the subscription box craze, this is a good time to start. If you do hit the button, be sure to leave me a comment and tell me which Block you chose. |
